Project planning / 9 calculators
A room can involve several different orders: boxes for the floor, sheets for the walls, and lengths for the trim. Start with the surface you are changing, then use the calculator that matches how that material is sold.

Before you order
Floor area, wall area, and room perimeter answer different questions. Record doors, windows, and fixed fixtures so you can subtract the right openings without removing the same area twice.
Use flooring for planks, carpet for rolls and padding, and tile for tiled floors or plain walls. A shower has waterproofing, a pan, and wall details of its own, so use the shower tile calculator for that job.
Coverage per box, roll size, pattern repeat, and stock length can change the order. Enter the actual product specifications and adjust the waste allowance to suit the layout.
Need an area first? Measure the room with the square footage calculator, then take that area to the material-specific tool.
