A pour is ordered by volume. A wall starts with its face area and unit size. Reinforcing steel adds a separate length and weight calculation. Keep those quantities distinct as you work through the order.

Blocks, mortar, grout, and wall materials.
Bricks, mortar, and supplies for your wall.
Steel lengths, stock bars, laps, and weight.
Before you order
Use concrete for slabs, footings, or other pours; concrete block for CMU walls; and brick for mortared brickwork. Rebar covers the reinforcing-bar takeoff rather than the concrete itself.
A slab needs depth as well as area. Masonry needs unit and joint sizes as well as wall dimensions. Record openings and the selected material before estimating quantities.
Compare bag yields with ready-mix volume, and check mortar, grout, and reinforcing steel separately. Delivery minimums, site access, and supplier quotes can change the final cost.
A gravel base is a different layer from the concrete above it. Estimate each layer separately using its own depth and material.
